The latest additions are the new state-of-the-art EPD100LGR, EPD170LGR and EPD330LGR Refrigerant Dehumidifiers. LGR stands for “Low Grain Refrigerant”. A normal Refrigerant Dehumidifier works on a very simple principle. A fan draws humid air in through the evaporator, cooling the air to below the dew point. The water vapor content of the air condenses on the cold surface of the evaporator and is collected in a water tank or discharged to the drain via a built-in condensate pump. The cold dry air continues through the condenser where it is heated and then blown back out into the room, ready to absorb new moisture from the room. This process continues until the desired humidity is achieved.
LGR technology
The advantage of a refrigerant dehumidifier with LGR technology over traditional condensing dehumidifiers is that it works with a dual cooling system that pre-cools the air and thereby increases dehumidification capacity. The EPDXXXLGR series uses two cooling coils to pre-cool the air before it is directed across the cooling surface (the cold surface of the evaporator). This means increased condensate and thus greater dehumidification capacity.
