Sanosil SFS – Mold Spore Fixing Foam

Sanosil SFS mold and spore fixing foam is a high foaming surfactant concentrate with modified acrylic resins for delayed film formation.

Together with the disinfectant Sanosil S015, it forms a biocide-containing active foam. The liquid phase kills bacteria and mold.
After the foam has dried, a disinfectant film is formed that encapsulates dead mold spores and mycelium components and fixes them to the surface.

Ideal for disinfecting and fixing mold in inaccessible places, such as cavities under subfloors after water damage.

Description

Why foam treatment?
The classic and always preferred method of mold remediation, killing the mold and then removing (HEPA vacuuming) the inactivated mold components, cannot always be performed optimally for technical and economic reasons. For example, mold growth between wall/floor and kitchen elements or embedded wooden beam construction (ceiling) and other hard-to-reach places. In such cases, foam therapy is an effective alternative. This is because the mold constituents are inactivated by the biocide and are encapsulated and attached to the surfaces by the resin film that forms during drying. This means that spores or mold components can no longer be released into the room air.

Biocidal effect
The biocidal effect of SFS (mould and spore fixing foam) mixed with S015 is due to the environmentally friendly hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which in an extensive process is stabilized and catalytically enhanced in its effect against microorganisms by the addition of silver (Ag). This results in a multiplication of the disinfecting effect compared to normal hydrogen peroxide. The small amounts of silver that remain on the surface after the peroxide has broken down act as an antimicrobial depot to prevent mold growth.

Important
The SFS foam application stops current mold growth and inactivates all existing mold constituents. However, renewed mold growth cannot be ruled out if the cause of the mold growth is not found and corrected. The causes can be varied, but if mold growth is due to a lack of ventilation, for example, you should provide the exposed area with vents, possibly forced ventilation with a bathroom fan, or otherwise control humidity to keep it at a level that doesn’t promote active mold growth. This is the only way to ensure long-term success.
